Dr. Yahaya requested if Samel be seated with her in her more humane side of the glass. They directed them to a whole wing built specifically for face-to-face interactions.

There they sat across from each other. Dr. Yahaya made sure there were comfortable seating arrangements, a few paintings and trinkets that brought her comfort, some tea and a Webster’s delirium cube for Samel to solve.

The two sat facing each other with the ticking of an analog quartz clock on the wall. Samel starts lightly beat boxing to the ticking. Dr. Yahaya watches with a mix of shock and intrigue then breaks, “Do you want some tea?”

“Yes, please!”, he replied.

“What will you have? There’s strawberry lemon, honey-ginger, and mint.”

“Mmmhhh. I’ll have all three.”

“Me too.” she replied.

She stated asked, “I’ll use all three bags for the both of us. Hope that’s not weird?”

He smiled as if he was holding back a chuckle and replied, “No, not at all.”

She paused, “ok” and proceed to prepare the pot. “Would you like some sugar or honey?” she asked.

“Oh no, just the tea is perfect.”

“Do you need anything else?” She asked.

“No this is fine, thank you.”

She sat back down and wrote on her notebook again before asking, “So why did you drive them mad?”
